Weekend Backend Engineer

In this role at Sporty Group, you'll be responsible for developing microservices in a distributed deployment environment with an emphasis on containerisation with Docker and K8S. You'll work across a Friday-Tuesday shift pattern (including the weekend) to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Our Stack: Java 17, Spring Boot (Tomcat, Netty), Spring Data, Spring Cloud, Microservices, REST API, Message Queues, MySQL, MyBatis, ShardingSphere, MongoDB, Redis (AWS ElastiCache), ElasticSearch, RocketMQ, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Grafana, Prometheus.

What you'll be doing: Work across a Friday-Tuesday shift pattern. Develop highly-scalable mobile internet backends for millions of users. Participate in code reviews. Respond to support calls for applications in production. Mentoring less experienced team members.

What you'll bring: Minimum of 3+ Years within a relevant role. Be based within Europe or Latin America. Preferred experience in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data and iBATIS. Strong experience with highly-scalable web backends. Deep understanding of Microservices. Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes and AWS Cloud.
