Senior Systems Engineer

Automattic, behind WordPress.com, Jetpack, Tumblr, and WooCommerce, is looking for the world's best systems engineers. Deliver high availability, performance, and security for tens of billions of page views from 30 private data centers in 30 locations on 6 continents.

As part of a small vertically integrated team, you'll participate in all aspects of infrastructure management:
• Maximize availability and uptime through proactive planning, sound architecture, automation, and rapid failure response
• Make services as fast as possible through server-side and client-side optimization
• Ensure services are safe and secure through proactive monitoring and data integrity
• Remove friction between developers and shipping software

Good fit if you:
• Have maintained large Nginx setups with advanced routing, load balancing, high availability
• Run very large MySQL/MariaDB deployments with high performance and data integrity
• Experience running and debugging PHP applications at scale
• Understand filesystems, network, memory management, kernel internals
• Deep operational experience with large complex public-facing web hosting systems
• Can autonomously architect, prototype, and maintain solutions

Salary: $120,000–$180,000+ USD. Fully remote.
