Role Overview:
The Software Engineer at Carrot builds scalable, adaptable, high-quality systems and features serving end users. You will build and maintain member-facing products, internal tools, and other surfaces delivering value.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with other engineering teams — communicate effectively and keep teammates updated.
• Improve systems — balance investment and return across greenfield and legacy systems.
• Keep a sharp eye on user metrics — work with Product to understand user behaviors.
• Build resilient, design-standard member-facing features with minimal friction.
• Write and maintain clear, discoverable documentation.
• Explore alternative solutions and innovate beyond the paved path.
• Own the systems you build — participate in on-call rotations, improve observability and runbooks.
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience building with C#, .NET Core, TypeScript, React.
• Experience with cloud platforms: Azure and AWS.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools.
• Naturally curious, internally motivated to learn new skills.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced, iterative environments.
Compensation: $98,000–$115,000 base + equity + health benefits + parental leave + fertility support.
