Engineering Team Lead

ScholarshipOwl is the largest scholarship marketplace in the US, using AI to connect 14 million students who are looking for scholarships with companies looking for students. ScholarshipOwl is looking for an Engineering Team Lead to act as the technical and operational linchpin between product, design, engineering, and B2B sales. This is a high-impact leadership position where you will guide your team through the architecture, implementation, and delivery across a diverse portfolio of scholarship management and AI-driven platforms. You will serve as the primary Point of Contact for 8 core projects, ensuring high-quality code, seamless cross-functional team coordination, and the successful execution of critical sales workflows. Responsibilities include hands-on technical leadership participating in daily stand-ups and conducting multi-stack code reviews, acting as the primary technical POC for all B2B and GTM projects, leading Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Retro, and Backlog Grooming, championing AI integration by leading development and experimentation of AI agent workflows, and monitoring system health and leading deliveries via data analysis and querying with MySQL and BigQuery. Requirements include 5 or more years of software engineering experience, 3 or more years of proven leadership as a Technical Team Lead or Engineering Manager, strong backend architecture foundations with extensive GCP experience including Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and Datastore, and solid understanding of AI Agent orchestration with LLMs and Python.
