OpenStack Engineer

VEXXHOST is seeking an OpenStack Engineer to help design, deploy, operate, and support large-scale cloud environments for global clients. Key responsibilities include designing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining OpenStack environments for production use; monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure to ensure performance, reliability, and capacity; troubleshooting issues across OpenStack services such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, and Keystone; performing upgrades, expansions, and lifecycle management tasks; working directly with clients to diagnose and resolve technical issues; collaborating with internal engineering teams to integrate OpenStack with other platforms and tools; automating operational processes to improve efficiency and consistency; creating and maintaining documentation for processes, configurations, and best practices; and participating in on-call rotations to support critical systems. Required qualifications include strong hands-on experience with OpenStack in production environments, solid understanding of compute, networking, storage, and identity services within OpenStack, proficiency with Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals, knowledge of virtualization technologies such as KVM, experience with tools such as Ansible and Terraform, familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana, and scripting experience with Python or Go.
