Security Engineer

VerSprite, an Inc. 5000 fastest growing company and industry leader in PASTA threat modeling founded in 2007, is seeking an enthusiastic Cloud Security Engineer who grasps security principles and is ready to code, build automations, and tackle application security vulnerabilities. VerSprite is a private cybersecurity consulting firm with a 97 percent client retention rate providing organizations with services including penetration tests, evolved red teaming engagements, vCISO, vSOC, and advanced security tools including a Cloud Security Assessment Platform and Cyber Threat Intelligence Portal. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about securing cloud environments while utilizing development skills to create scalable, automated solutions. Responsibilities include designing and implementing cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments with creativity and innovation; developing automation scripts and tools that streamline security operations and enhance compliance; conducting application security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and collaborating with engineering teams to remediate issues effectively; integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows; monitoring and responding to security incidents with agility ensuring rapid detection and resolution; and writing automations that revolutionize the security approach. Requirements include strong experience in cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP, proficiency in coding with Python or Go and building automation workflows, solid understanding of AppSec principles and OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices, familiarity with security tools such as Terraform, Kubernetes security, and vulnerability scanners, and experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps methodologies.
