Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (OpenStack / Virtualization)

New Era Technology, a global team of over 3,000 professionals committed to securely connecting people, places, and information with end-to-end technology solutions at scale, is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead the re-platforming and build-out of an internal KVM-based virtualization environment on new UCS hardware in the Ashburn data center. The role integrates OpenStack and open-source automation tools to support the migration of workloads from a legacy datacenter, ensuring robust, scalable, and automated infrastructure. Primary duties include tearing down and rebuilding the existing ESX-based UCS blade environment transitioning to KVM virtualization, designing and implementing an OpenStack platform for internal use considering open-source alternatives to OpenShift, integrating SAN and NetApp storage solutions into the new platform, deploying and configuring open-source automation tools such as Ansible for infrastructure management and orchestration, collaborating with internal staff and providing technical leadership and mentorship, working closely with network architects and storage teams to ensure seamless integration, and documenting architecture, configuration, and operational procedures for the new environment. Requirements include extensive experience with Linux, KVM virtualization, and OpenStack deployment, strong background in UCS hardware, SAN, and NetApp storage integration, proficiency with open-source automation tools such as Ansible, and 8 or more years of relevant experience.
